“Faith Healing” was by far one of the most challenging films we have made so far. Not necessarily during production. If anything, it was an incredible week of miracles and provisions. But in the month leading up to it, we were tested and tried time after time. Our faith was tested, but the testing of faith produces perseverance. That is truly the Message of “Faith Healing.”
There were times throughout preproduction where we weren’t sure we were going to make it. We didn’t know if we were going to be able to secure the necessary funding, resources, and locations or even we'd even have to cancel the production. Even during the production week, things did not go as planned, but things did according to God‘s plan, which was amazing to witness. And this film became something that I truly believe He is very proud of and that he has a purpose being revealed to us daily. Throughout the production week and in the weeks leading up to it, one verse kept appearing within the cast and crew. Proverbs 16:3 - “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” In fact, this verse came up on the first day of filming, shared by our lead actress, Christina Maria Wendt. With this film, we really had no choice but to whole commit it to God, because there were times where we did not know how we were going to be able to get everything that we needed to make this movie. So how do we overcome these trails and obstacles? By taking the first step, and whenever we would encounter adversity, would we give up and cancel the production, or will be persevere? That is truly what commitment to the Lord is; in the face of adversity remaining faithful and trust in the world that you were doing to God. Eventually, we reached a point of no return, where regardless of what we had or didn't have, we knew we had to keep holding on. Through the adversity that came with making this film, we never stopped. We had to entrust the whole thing to God, and in the end, we didn’t always have too much, but we never had too little either. We always had Enough. We’ll be making another post later on this week about how God provided enough for us, but in the end, “Faith Healing” and one of the biggest confirmations of our calling as actors and filmmakers of God. In the end, it was God who wrote, directed, and produced this film into something beyond the imagination of anyone involved. We feel so blessed that this is the calling God has on our lives. And we are so passionate about it!
